How do I learn with the activities?

The activities on this CD-ROM are a fun way to learn and practice vocabulary. Once you select a activity from the activity menu, you will see a description of this activity. You will also see the area the activity helps you practice: synonyms, phrasal verbs, idioms, and so on.

The activities will either require you to find the correct word that completes a sentence or to guess what a word in a certain category is. You will receive feedback after you answer a question. If you select an incorrect answer choice, the correct answer will be displayed before you can move on to the next question. Sometimes you will have to continue until you find the correct answer.

Almost all of the activities will also display a final score and show you the number of questions you have answered correctly. Some of the activities-Octo's Adventure, Bomb Squad, and Reverse Dictionary-have a Hint button. Click on this button to learn what the words practiced in the activity mean and to see how they are used in a sentence.
